The ink used in these cartridges has a specific chemical composition which is very different from most other inks. Do not use inks intended for other cartridges in these cartridges.
HP has designed these cartridges with an expiration date. When the expiration date occurs, the cartridge will not work and a message will let the user know of this. This expiration has nothing whatsoever to do with the refilling of these cartridges -- it occurs if you never refill or if you refill 50 times. It appears that the expiration date is set for 24 to 30 months from the date of manufacture.
We highly recommend all the printers in this family, since there are multiple separate, large cartridges which are easy to refill repeatedly. In addition, the printer has excellent speed and a very rugged mechanical design.
The only differences between the #10, #11, #82, #84, #85 cartridges are their size.
